Wicks & Bases
BLEACHED
SQUARE WICK was originally designed for beeswax candles. Today, this
wick is used in all types of candle systems. This unique construction
combined with our chemical treatment processes make it an excellent
choice for waxes that are highly viscous when molten, like beeswax and
vegetable wax. Bleached Square Wick is engineered to curl while
burning, minimizing carbon build-up. This wick is constructed of 100%
natural fibers and is finished with chemical treatments to improve burn
qualities.
The suggestions of wick choices are provided are meant to serve only as a guide for our customers to assist them in wick selection. Many variables exist in candle wax types, additives and formulations for individual candle systems. Final wick selection should always be confirmed through the customer’s own testing process to determine if a particular wick is the correct choice for a particular candle system. Blossomland Bee Supply is not responsible for selections made by the customer using any of the reference material. For optimal burn performance in specific candle systems, we strongly recommend that customers conduct exhaustive burn tests in their own burn lab and consider retaining samples for their future internal reference. The importance of candle testing and data validation cannot be overstated.
Metal wick sustainer bases are manufactured from heavy tinplate. Build your own wick assemblies using this
sustainer base. They are used to hold wicks in containers or molds which
do not have a hole for insertion and hold wick in an upright position
when wax gets close to bottom of container. To use, place wick in center
hole of wick sustainer base and squeeze shut to secure wick. Then place
in mold for pouring.
Smaller than the #2 the #1 square braid wicking is also recommended for 3" to 4" diameter pillars using paraffin with stearic acid, and beeswax pillar candles.

#6 square braid wicking is recommended for 5" to 7" diameter pillars using paraffin with stearic acid, and for 2" to 3" beeswax candles.

#10 square braid wicking is recommended for 7" to 10" diameter pillars using paraffin with stearic acid, and for 3" to 5" (3 inch burn pool) diameter beeswax pillar candles.

1/0 wicking is recommended for 1" to 2' diameter pillars using paraffin with stearic acid. Also for 1/2" to 7/8" beeswax taper candles.

3/0 wicking is recommended for 2" to 3' diameter pillars using paraffin with stearic acid. Also for 1/2" to 7/8" beeswax taper candles and tea lights or votives. This 8 ounce roll contains approximately 600 feet of wicking.
