Slightly larger than the #2, the #3 square braid wicking is also recommended for 3" to 4" diameter pillars using paraffin with stearic acid, and beeswax pillar candles. A 8 ounce roll contains approximately 375 feet of wicking.

The wick is the pipeline that feeds the melted wax vapor to the flame by capillary action. It is important to choose the right wick so the candle will burn slowly with an even flame and will not drip or smoke. Selection of wick size is determined by the diameter of the candle and the hardness and melting point of the wax used.
