The wick is the pipeline that feeds the melted wax vapor to the flame by capillary action.
It is important to choose the right wick so the candle will burn slowly with an even flame and will not drip or smoke. Selection of wick size is determined by the diameter of the candle and the hardness and melting point of the wax used.
3/0 wicking is recommended for 2" to 3' diameter pillars using paraffin with stearic acid. Also for 1/2" to 7/8" beeswax taper candles and tea lights or votives.
This 8 ounce roll contains approximately 600 feet of wicking.
